So it’s been a few days and we’ve all had time to compress after last week’s skating overload, and there’s still the the U.S. Nationals Gala to watch Saturday, but all the competing itself is done.  A few random thoughts:

Something of a minor miracle I actually found time to work on this amid all the skating I actually watched!(Not to mention getting drawn back into the Australian Open Sunday morning). Though I’m starting to worry if maybe my microphone was going; the quality of the vocals is dropping even when the saving process doesn’t make it worse, though it actually could’ve been a lot more damaging this time around than it was.

I actually had a doctor’s appointment yesterday, which meant I didn’t finish the video until very late at night. In fact, I haven’t even done the annotations yet; that should be done after I post this. ETA: Annotations done.

It seems this is continually thinking up ways to plague me; this week after I’d labored a record ten hours on it, the video of course refused to save normally, and this time the sound merely didn’t get garbled; it outright dropped a couple of times! And coming up this week is the first regional results(I originally included a couple short program results this week, but there simply wasn’t room for them). I was way too tired to post this last night, so posting it now instead:

Once again the video initially failed to convert, and when I had decided to risk using footage from last night’s Battle of the Blades premiere, and another Yu-Na Kim vid while I was at it. But at least neither got the video blocked, and I can do tags for this during the commercial breaks for Dancing With the Stars.

And apparently I am now allowed to upload videos to YouTube that are longer than 15 minutes, but honestly? This is taking enough out of me; if I tried to do longer I’d go crazy.

Another one that wouldn’t convert initially, forcing me to go the long way round and cause sound problems. At least noone blocked it.

Once again I escape SBSi, but when All That Skate is next week, I shall have to attempt to be careful. Also apologies for my voice getting dicey at a couple of points; the sinuses were not good these weekend.

This was an exhausting one, and I ended up leaving a lot out due to time constraints. But it looks like my theory that SBSi was claiming the copyright on Yu-Na content was wrong; not a wink of her in this video and it’s still blocked in both Japan and Korea.

No blocking this week! Yay! Guess that makes up for the spam that’s starting to increase in my YouTube account’s inbox.
