And now I must figure out what to do about the submission to iTunes which was completely ignored.  I wish there was some obvious way to check its status.  Though maybe not next week, given how much else I’m going to have to for this podcast then.

At one point I thought this might be the first of the new audio posts to be delayed until Monday, though it instead proved the first one I had to cut down, since while I’m allowing myself to be more flexible about length, I still want to keep them to under twenty minutes.  All this while trying to record and edit around the International Classic, and when as a result, I couldn’t finish scripting until after 9 tonight, after I’d mostly edited together everything that came after my opening accounts of the senior competitions!  September 10-16, 2012

Don’t even ask me how I found time for this one, between watching the Olympics and going to two Fringe shows this weekend.  Even less certain how I’ll find time for next week’s.  Maybe that one will be shorter.  This one was only long because of multiple big events this week(and I really wish I’d had more info on the Lake Placid free dances): July 23-29, 2012  Posting the morning after due to WordPress deciding it was a wonderful idea to log me out mid-post last night, which left me too tired to deal with it then.

With the power out all of yesterday I wondered if I would do this week, and with apparently some people in the area not getting power back until Friday(!) perhaps we might have even missed two weeks, but as it happens, we’re more or less unhindered this week: June 25-July 1, 2012

And I am attempting to start this up again.  Here’s hoping this shows up.  It’s actually shorter than any of the videos I did, but it was a slow news week and trying to find an audio editor willing to do simple tasks drove me crazy enough as it is.    5-13-12.mp3

I really should’ve done this all last night. But I held out until this morning, hoping to get maybe a little footage of the Canadian free skates, or at least a full list of the 4CC/Junior Worlds team. Though waiting did mean reporting Savchenko & Szolkowy’s withdrawal from Euros, but the only thing that allowed me to finish the editing this morning was expected icy conditions(which didn’t seem to manifest) letting me leave for work and hour and half late, and even then it was still saving(though at least it did so without complications, which really surprised me; I was in such a hurry I almost didn’t try to save to an smaller size and quality sound first), so I could only upload it now. I was dreading it being blocked, but instead it wasn’t claimed at all.

At one point yesterday I thought this might prove undoable, because all the videos for China & Korea arrived on Sunday, and it was a long process watching enough of them to get news without the scoring protocols available(or even the scores in the case of Korea, though at least I had the placements). But after a final scramble when I finally got the top three from Lyon, I finished it this morning and thankfully was able to leave it converting to usable format immediately before going to work, though uploading after stumbling home through the snow took a little longer than expected

I’m finally finishing at a decent hour again! Though it helped that most of the NHK Trophy was over by the time Saturday morning was. Of course there was a bit of worry when NHK went blocking most of the ladies’ short, but they left more than enough for me to work with.

Worse and worse.  This one had my video converter failing on me, my MovieMaker declaring there wasn’t enough memory and refusing to save even the project file, I didn’t get an uploadable file until it was well past midnight(though I started over two hours earlier, and only discovered this morning half an hour more and I would have had footage from Battle of the Blades Sunday night), and to top it off while annotating it this morning I discovered there were two huge stretches where the sound shorted out, and with so many results displayed annotations are harder; in the regionals section I’m afraid I just gave up; that’s just going to be scores without commentary.  I don’t know how much more of this I can bear.
