Covers today’s events as well because Sectionals was continuing into today, and because I won’t be doing one next week, what with being off the continent most of the week. At least now that I’ve gotten the cat out of my suitcase:
Skate Canada has surprises in singles, not in couples
Narumi Takahashi & Adrian Schultheiss out for surgery, other roster changes
Cup of Nice has a lot of Russians
Yu-Na Kim to use old coaches, debut at NRW
U.S. & Russian qualifying continues
Lysacek & Meissner interviewed
Salé & Pelletier inducted into Canada Sports Hall of Fame
And now I must figure out what to do about the submission to iTunes which was completely ignored. I wish there was some obvious way to check its status. Though maybe not next week, given how much else I’m going to have to for this podcast then.
This week’s headlines:
Japan threatens to pull skaters from Cup of China
Pairs alternates list for Grand Prix close to depleted
U.S. skaters for Croatia confirmed
JGP Bosphorus in Istanbul
Internal competitions in China & Russia
Interviews with Russian & French skaters
2nd season of Be Good Johnny Weir premieres
This week’s headlines:
Carolina Kostner to stay
Cynthia Phaneuf injured
Club competitions in Los Angeles, Vail, Milwaukee, & Texas
Multiple skaters announce music
Interviews with Rukavitsin group in Latvia
All That Skate & The Ice head show announcements
Michelle Kwan carried Olympic torch
At one point yesterday I thought this might prove undoable, because all the videos for China & Korea arrived on Sunday, and it was a long process watching enough of them to get news without the scoring protocols available(or even the scores in the case of Korea, though at least I had the placements). But after a final scramble when I finally got the top three from Lyon, I finished it this morning and thankfully was able to leave it converting to usable format immediately before going to work, though uploading after stumbling home through the snow took a little longer than expected
Once again I had to go the long way round and mess the sound up, and this time Universal Sports claimed the copyright, but like the ISU they’re not blocking it anywhere.
This one I started working on earlier still, but I didn’t have much time for it this weekend anyway. Still despite MovieMaker crashing four times while editing and then a fifth time during my initial attempt to convert I got it uploaded around nine-and then it would not process. I finally slept on it and woke up to find it finally had processed, and just finished the annotations.
