I really should’ve done this all last night. But I held out until this morning, hoping to get maybe a little footage of the Canadian free skates, or at least a full list of the 4CC/Junior Worlds team. Though waiting did mean reporting Savchenko & Szolkowy’s withdrawal from Euros, but the only thing that allowed me to finish the editing this morning was expected icy conditions(which didn’t seem to manifest) letting me leave for work and hour and half late, and even then it was still saving(though at least it did so without complications, which really surprised me; I was in such a hurry I almost didn’t try to save to an smaller size and quality sound first), so I could only upload it now. I was dreading it being blocked, but instead it wasn’t claimed at all.

Once again I had to go the long way round and mess the sound up, and this time Universal Sports claimed the copyright, but like the ISU they’re not blocking it anywhere.

I actually had a doctor’s appointment yesterday, which meant I didn’t finish the video until very late at night. In fact, I haven’t even done the annotations yet; that should be done after I post this. ETA: Annotations done.

Once again the video initially failed to convert, and when I had decided to risk using footage from last night’s Battle of the Blades premiere, and another Yu-Na Kim vid while I was at it. But at least neither got the video blocked, and I can do tags for this during the commercial breaks for Dancing With the Stars.

Today was actually a pretty exciting day for real life related reasons, which also meant I began editing this video two hours late. Which meant by the time I finished one of my news sections was obsolete! But there’s a point, especially after I’ve edited together the final voice track, where I consider things locked already, especially when it comes to official announcements very much made on Monday, outside the window of the week’s coverage. Meanwhile, I actually tried to use a clip of Yu-Na SBS hadn’t blocked in the past, but either it wasn’t entire safe or they objected to another clip, so this one’s blocked in Korea and Japan again.

This was an exhausting one, and I ended up leaving a lot out due to time constraints. But it looks like my theory that SBSi was claiming the copyright on Yu-Na content was wrong; not a wink of her in this video and it’s still blocked in both Japan and Korea.
