Don’t even ask me how I found time for this one, between watching the Olympics and going to two Fringe shows this weekend.  Even less certain how I’ll find time for next week’s.  Maybe that one will be shorter.  This one was only long because of multiple big events this week(and I really wish I’d had more info on the Lake Placid free dances): July 23-29, 2012  Posting the morning after due to WordPress deciding it was a wonderful idea to log me out mid-post last night, which left me too tired to deal with it then.

By the way, anyone know a good freeware audio editor?  I’m about to run out a free trial and trying to find one earlier really did drive me bats.  I need it to be able to perform simple tasks, such as attaching .wma files to each other consecutively(which Audacity seemed strangely unable to do…), and then have sections removed.  Being able to amplify(I actually amplified the Medal Winners open section on this file, first time I’ve ever done that) and tell exactly where in the timeline certain sounds are would be good bonuses.  Meanwhile, I at least had the trial software for the all important Grand Prix week episode: May 21-27, 2012

I really should’ve done this all last night. But I held out until this morning, hoping to get maybe a little footage of the Canadian free skates, or at least a full list of the 4CC/Junior Worlds team. Though waiting did mean reporting Savchenko & Szolkowy’s withdrawal from Euros, but the only thing that allowed me to finish the editing this morning was expected icy conditions(which didn’t seem to manifest) letting me leave for work and hour and half late, and even then it was still saving(though at least it did so without complications, which really surprised me; I was in such a hurry I almost didn’t try to save to an smaller size and quality sound first), so I could only upload it now. I was dreading it being blocked, but instead it wasn’t claimed at all.

And I don’t start working now for two more weeks, but this weekend(and today) was so crazy I wondered how I was to get this vidoe completed. At least it saved to a usable format immediately for the first time in months! Though the ISU claimed copyright. They haven’t blocked it anywhere, but there may be advertisements.

I’m finally finishing at a decent hour again! Though it helped that most of the NHK Trophy was over by the time Saturday morning was. Of course there was a bit of worry when NHK went blocking most of the ladies’ short, but they left more than enough for me to work with.

It seems this is continually thinking up ways to plague me; this week after I’d labored a record ten hours on it, the video of course refused to save normally, and this time the sound merely didn’t get garbled; it outright dropped a couple of times! And coming up this week is the first regional results(I originally included a couple short program results this week, but there simply wasn’t room for them). I was way too tired to post this last night, so posting it now instead:

Blocked in Japan, unfortunately.  But not in Korea.

And apparently I am now allowed to upload videos to YouTube that are longer than 15 minutes, but honestly? This is taking enough out of me; if I tried to do longer I’d go crazy.
