Fortunately I misunderstood the expiration warning on the sound editor; it was just going to shut down the “advanced” features which I wasn’t using anyway, so I can keep on using it to do what I need.  In fact, I was merrily editing away tonight, trying to figure out how to increase the volume again while recording, when suddenly what should hit my twitter feed but the story of the summer, meaning I have to go back and do the beginning all over again!  Though in fact I ended up spending even longer waiting for All Year FSC to upload the final results of its competition, stretching it out as long as I could, but I have work tomorrow and in the end have had to go forward without them: May 28-June 3, 2012

And since I uploaded, it seems the article about Shilband’s firing now has him blaming it all on Marina.  Well, as I said, I waited as long as I could.

And I am attempting to start this up again.  Here’s hoping this shows up.  It’s actually shorter than any of the videos I did, but it was a slow news week and trying to find an audio editor willing to do simple tasks drove me crazy enough as it is.    5-13-12.mp3

I’m finally finishing at a decent hour again! Though it helped that most of the NHK Trophy was over by the time Saturday morning was. Of course there was a bit of worry when NHK went blocking most of the ladies’ short, but they left more than enough for me to work with.

Last week I actually made a video, and TF1 claimed copyright on some clip in it, where since I deliberately wasn’t using French TV footage it was impossible to tell which, and blocked it worldwide. When some educated guesses failed to root the culprit out I decided there really wasn’t much news to report on last week anyway. I was anxious all through this week for fear they’d do it again, but fortunately they’ve left this one alone. Even if SBSi blocked it in both Korea and Japan again. At some point in the future I suspect I will be driven to switch to using a webcam of myself, but I need to figure out how to fix my voice first…
