A Final Encore

Oddly enough, the only movie scored by John Barry I’ve seen all the way through was his final one, a relatively obscure 2001 film called Enigma, though I’ve seen bits and pieces of Out of Africa and some of the earlier Bond films.  That doesn’t mean I haven’t heard his music, of course.  I’ve heard much of it skated to, but Somewhere in Time I just might have heard anyway.  If he were to be remembered for anything, it ought to be that sweeping, romantic theme.  And so I commemorate him with Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon:

RIP, John.
