These two have definitely been the most fun part of the second season, both on their own and as a couple. But we know such a state of affairs cannot last on this kind of show, and there’s already indication there’s going to be broken trust between them yet again…or will there be?
Perhaps the thing most intriguing related to their joint storyline-and possibly Lance’s entire storyline, also-is his reaction to realizing she’s hiding something from him. That he seems willing to keep her secrets, and that his only concern seems to be whether it involves him and her-and it appears he’s right that it doesn’t-indicates that whatever Bobbi and Mack are planning, he might not necessarily be against it. And that makes sense; we’ve seen his rogueishness already. Sooner or later he is probably going to find out what they’re up to, if only when everyone else finds out too, and he might even join their cause then. If Mack doesn’t come out of his current ordeal in a state to continue on as her accomplice, she might even feel a need to recruit him. And that might be a fun sequence of events to watch him engage in. Though I suspect it wouldn’t end well for him at all, especially if May is still holding that grudge.
But just what are Bobbi and Mack up to? Does it have anything to do with the current storyline or not? Things still tend to be connected to each other on this show, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it did. Or possibly it might even have some connection to the upcoming events of Age of Ultron(perhaps we may even have some sort of story involving Bobbi and Clint Barton, though it does look more likely they’re just having her do that storyline with Lance instead). We know that not only is the movie going to come out before the season’s over, but it’s been confirmed we will see fallout on the show from the events of the movie. Maybe the two of them are preparing something robot-related? I’ve also heard it suggested that the two of them might even have connections to some other shadow organization; I’ve seen the suggestion of S.W.O.R.D., which apparently at one point was suppose to be established as existing by the first Thor movie. Since according to the Marvel wiki they’re supposed to specialize in extraterrestrial issues, that raises possibility of another Asgardian visit(though they may wish to save all future Asgardian stories for Ragnarok), or possibly contact with the people or at least the species of Guardians of the Galaxy-which could also conceivably fit into the Inhuman storyline, especially if the species involved is the Kree. I don’t know if they would necessarily bring Thanos into the TV show, except maybe as a cameo, but you never know.
In any case, I hope whatever she’s up to won’t result in Bobbi getting killed or kicked out of S.H.I.E.L.D., unless maybe if by going rogue she can continue to be awesome. It would be a real shame to lose her. Although I can’t entirely believe they’d kill her off, really, since she’s a major character from the comics, although they might maneuver her out of the show and into one of the movies(raising again the question of how long the Avengers can be kept in the dark about Coulson still being alive; they’d need to find a good reason for her not to spill the beans if she falls in with them). But if she’s still around at the end of the season, they’d better making her a regular for the next one. That Lance is already makes me think he’s probably safe for the rest of the season, though the end of it might always be another matter.
